An unforgetable BBQ...

Dearie Diary,

I went for a very interesting BBQ last night. It was a gathering of the School of Business Club Sub Comm for Social Nite 2003.

There were 3 major reasons why I said it was interesting. Of course, there was a long list of minior reasons which will not be mention here cos I am tired. I was distrubed from my sleep due to a prank sms from a jerk!!! So a not-so-long entry will do...

The rain was the number ONE major reason. Though now I am having a bit of running nose, I think without the rain, it will be not be as cozy and as fun. Why did I say that...?

Before the rain come, some of us will take rest in between the bbq though all had help out... When the rain started, I was not with the group as I was buying another box of fire starter. We ran out of it as Richmond was confident of getting the fire going with only 10 firestarters. I'm not implying anything about Richmond's ability to start the fire. Just that the fire starter is of a lousy brand. Hee... That is according to him... lol...

The rain comes, I ran back as fast as could can wanting to find out if we are going to pack and leave. To my surprise, we are going to stay put and bbq under the rain with umbrellas. See why I said that it is interesting, imagine bbq under a heavy rain... 1st in my lifetime! lol...

I thank God for the rain though. Because the rain caused all of us in the group to crowd aroung the pit. It caused Richmond to be motivated. It caused all of us to be unitied to cover the fire. It caused Pretty, Sear Li, Wei Peng and me to shiver. It caused me (maybe all of us) to realise that there are kind souls around. Thank you to the person who lend us a hugh piece of poncho. Thank God for the kind soul.

Okie, major reason TWO: there are only 7 people in our bbq... It is my personal record for me. The smallest number of people bbq-ing in my life! But I see lot of pros in a smaller bbq group. No free rider, more bonding since you had less people to bond with, more cozy, more personal, more interesting and more FUN!~!~

Major reason THREE: the interesting people in the group. Richmond, the organiser and whole night saying "thou shall persevere". Pretty, the forever laughter source. Quthub, the satay man. Wei Peng, the "jelly" ger. (haha... matching huh, 1 satay 1 jelly) Wilson the entertainer... Sear Li the helpful ger for helping me with my medicine...

Okie, I hope that this is not too long for you to read. Got to go now.. Take care and God, please protect me from illness.

-Shu Ling-

p/s: Pretty told us during the bbq that it always rain on Good Friday. It set me thinking. That rain should be tears from heaven. Tear droped for the Lord Jesus who died on the cross for our sins. Thank you, Jesus!
