Attending my friend's home group

Dearie Diary,
This is my second entry of the day. I will be writting in this entry my thoughts after attending another home group (also known as cell group) meeting. Yesterday was my second time visiting their home meeting.
My main purpose of attending another cell was to see how meetings are held in the other cell groups. Though I will be writing about 1 difference, it is not so much to compare which cell is better but more for exposure. While the agendas of my home group are the same as my friend's group, I noted some differences.
One of the agendas is to discuss about the sermon of the week. For my friend's cell, most of the time were spent on the application of the message. Yesterday we were discussing about the topic serving God and people UNCONDITIONALLY.
We talked about how it is so difficult to give unconditionally after realising that many a times we wanted appreciation or even praise from people when we do acts of kindness. We also discussed what God was thinking when he chose to even wash the feet of the disciple who was about to betray Him. Can you imagine yourself helping someone whom you know was about to harm you? I concluded that God should be thinking: "I serve and give to others unconditionally, should anyone praise or show appreciation, it is God's bonus for me." Questions like "How far should we go when helping people?" and "What is God's purpose for us in the church or work place or school etc?" were raised up too... Thank God for what I learnt from the discussion.
As for my cell group the time spent on the application is slightly lesser. This is because we usually have a summary session first. Then we spent time clearing each other's doubts or questions about the sermon. I guess after that the time spend on in depth discussion and application is much lesser. However after my cell group meeting, I always get a deeper understanding of the sermon. Thank God for that.
Other differences are not worth mentioning as they are due to the differences in group members profile. My friend's cell are generally younger that my cell members. Also my cell members are all female while my friend's cell is a mixed group. The difference was the way issues are addressed. To me, both are alright for me though I still prefer my own cell group.
I thank God for bringing me to my current cell group and opportunity to visit my friend's cell.
By the way, I finally got the lyrics of the song I mentioned in the entry titled "The significant decision". I said that the phrase "I want to care for others like Jesus cares for me." reflected my feelings. Today I shall end with the chorus of the song titled "Spirit touch your church".
Spirit TOUCH your church
STIR the hearts of men.
REVIVE us Lord
With your passion once again.
I WANT to care for others
Like Jesus cares for me.
Let your rain fall upon me.
Let your rain FALL UPON ME.
